Sam Robinson

Sam is based in Newcastle, Australia and has worked in private industry, state and federal government and the community sector. His passion is in helping people that work in organisations understand how culture can be understood and shaped by systems, symbols and behaviour. As a Director of Floreat Consulting Australia, Sam supports individuals and organisations understand and develop leadership potential.

Starting his professional career as a lawyer in the community sector and private practice, Sam worked in competition policy for the Australian Government, before moving to a challenging regulatory affairs for major Middle East telecommunications company Etisalat. This latter experience involved implementing a company-wide regulatory compliance program: a large-scale culture change project that yielded tangible improvements to organisational performance.

Taking this experience into private organisational consultancy has seen Sam lead and participate in culture assessment, leadership development and internal systems development projects in a range of organisational contexts including the New Zealand public service, as well as the resources, property and construction sectors.

Sam has a wife and 2 children, loves the outdoors especially ocean kayaking and fishing. Interested in supporting his local community, Sam is a committee member of the Newcastle Regional Show.

Sam is passionate about supporting people to become more effective leaders and team members. He established his own consultancy, Resilience Partners, in 2013 and became an Associate of Salient Consulting in 2014.
